ARTIST STATEMENT

My latest series of works is about transformation of the soul. As we journey through life many obstacles lay in our wake.

The women series portrays a depth of emotion. Personal experiences have gone into these pieces. I use the female figure to portray one’s feelings of isolation, and loneliness, with hopefulness. The dress symbolizes feminine energy and strength. Women of our world deserve respect, equality and admiration. These pieces represent the power and beauty of women globally. They are painted with layers of oil color, cold wax, and collage. Symbols of varying representations are intermingled with the figure. They are a true representation of peace, beauty and the power of the feminine.

The nature-based work is symbolic of our fragility in this world. They represent the importance of caring for our environment and for each other. They are a statement of love and hope.
