My art examines urban life: how people in different cultures live and interact in the city. In this series of paintings urban scenes have a creative vibe where people gather to work, play and express their cultures within different neighbourhoods.

These detailed paintings are viewed from the street showing vintage buildings that house restaurants, boutiques and coffee houses. Store fronts with colourful and unique business signs, murals or graffiti tags. Some work feature buildings in disrepair remembering better days gone by.

Neighbourhoods featured in this series are located on the Edge of Nature, Historic Chinatown and the Commercial Streets.

My process has evolved over many years: experimenting in different art mediums. Subjects during this time ranged from landscapes in oils, and experimenting in abstract and figurative works and today’s work in watercolour on Urban Landscapes.

My studio is part of an artists collective with 9 other artists located at 1178 Welch Street, in the Welch Street Studios, east of Pemberton Ave in North Vancouver.
