Amy Wiebe Lau (Blackcherry Raven) is a Vancouver-based abstract expressionist artist who embarked on a profound journey driven by her curiosity for the wonders of creation. From her studio on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, Amy immerses herself in the surreal beauty and intricate design of the abstract. Her art explores themes of nephomancy, drawing inspiration from clouds, light, and the chaos between space and beauty.
Driven by a deep desire to express her abstract vision and emotions, it became her chosen medium of communication, transcending the limitations of words and allowing her to share her unique perspective with the world. She believes in the transformative power of art to challenge norms, evoke emotions, and promote justice.
Using resin and alcohol inks, Amy captures the vibrant and fluid nature of the cosmos. Amy aims to evoke a kaleidoscope of emotions, fostering introspection and dialogue amidst the chaos.
