Leanne M Christie is a contemporary urban oil painter whose dynamic brushwork and intentional use of color, distill the essence of familiar and unusual subjects. Her work invites viewers to reinterpret the shared experience of transitory urban spaces—those ever-changing backdrops where life’s stories unfold.
Based in Vancouver, Christie maintains a full-time studio practice, drawing inspiration from her daily commute between Coquitlam and the city. She intentionally immerses herself in the urban landscape, experiencing it through driving, cycling, walking, and public transit. These journeys fuel her masterful depictions of movement, memory, and place.
Christie’s evocative paintings are widely collected and are available through Art Rental and Sales operated by the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Van Dop Gallery. She is also a regular participant in the prestigious Splash art auction.
